Cotillion dresses are traditionally white and The National League of Junior Cotillions’ Fairfax and Arlington Chapters follows that tradition. For our 6th and 7th grade Spring Balls we request that ladies wear white dresses. We realize that white dresses can be difficult to find in the early spring, so pastel dresses are acceptable, but white dresses are preferred.
This post is specifically to help ladies and their parents find a white dress. We have gathered suggestions from parents and will post them here. Some retailers have limited supplies or vary from year to year. We will attempt to keep this list up to date, but if you come across any expired information, please let us know. Dress code for the Spring Ball is semi-formal. We ask that the dresses be knee-length or longer and please no strapless dresses or dresses with trains.
One way to begin your quest for the perfect white dress is to search the words, “flower girl dress,” “junior bridesmaid dress” or “first communion dress” on the internet. These types of dresses are typically white and many come in sizes that would fit a 6th or 7th grade girl.
